“Budapest's mercure centre”
On a central pedestrian street near Deak metro — walkable to the Chain Bridge, sights and shops — Mercure Budapest City Center is an excellent best-location stay: a large room with a kettle and pre-set kids' beds, incredibly kind helpful staff, a samey-but-filling breakfast until eleven on weekends, daily bottled water plus a lobby dispenser, an efficient laundry service and strong value. Dissents though: a noisy strip lively until midnight, a bar before a simple three-desk check-in, public transport a little far and a drunk hammering on a door at nearly midnight with no answer given.
