On the Nile's Gezira island — the Cairo Tower from the window, a rooftop scenic restaurant — Novotel Cairo El Borg is an excellent beautiful stay for many: a very clean minibar room, prompt excellent service, helpful cheerful staff, a rich tasty breakfast, adapter-free three-pin sockets and great hospitality. Cautions though: a small crowded lobby and tiny pool, a loudish air conditioner, slow wifi, no toothbrush or slippers and a desk that pressed for a map review while a taxi waited.
