Novotel Cusco is a beautiful hotel set amid ancient-city ruins — sleeping in a museum per a delighted guest, a gorgeous garden courtyard, a quiet spot steps from the Plaza de Armas beside the Marriott, spacious balcony rooms, a fairly-rich breakfast, luggage storage that made Machu Picchu returns easy, a water-refill station for backpackers, packed breakfasts happily arranged for early departures, evening lobby opera, and super friendly staff who even translated with drivers. One complaint: the Google Maps pin pointed to the JW Marriott — the guest circled a rainy block soaked, then found nobody at the desk.
