“Santa Maria Novella stay”
Three hundred metres from the train station — luggage-friendly and walkable to sights — Mercure Firenze Centro is a very high-value convenient stay: a very new clean spacious room with AC, friendly staff and a dedicated water station pouring cold and sparkling, precious in Italy, plus free coffee. Two complaints though: a front desk allegedly assigned a poor room and wouldn't acknowledge or fix it, and a serious post-shower leak bothered another.
