“Ritz Tianjin's castle”
The Ritz-Carlton, Tianjin is a flawless wonderful stay — a red-brick castle building with a retro European lobby of black-and-white marble, gilt carvings, blue porcelain and classical paintings, an elegant classy European flair throughout, spacious rooms with refined retro furnishings and soft skin-friendly bedding, a magnificent chandelier, a very rich breakfast spanning Chinese, Western and local Tianjin snacks, and typically-meticulous polite timely Ritz service at super value for the brand; the priciest hotel in Tianjin, splurged on and adored. Caveats though: crowd control fell short during a concert weekend — fans gathered noisily outside the restaurant at breakfast, denting privacy and the meal — and one room's view was a monotonous inner ring.
