Sofitel Luang Prabang is a lovely quiet retreat in French colonial buildings — a beautiful setting, big well-kept rooms, delicious evening dining across local and French dishes, a very good breakfast where every plate lands despite fewer choices, a shuttle to the 3 Nagas and evening town runs, and staff whose warm greetings span desk to restaurant. Caveats though: only around twenty rooms and a distance from the main street, with value called merely fair.
