Sofitel Angkor Phokeethra is a spotlessly clean garden resort and the go-to base for Angkor — gorgeous grounds, a lovely pool, spa, gym and cigar bar, plus three restaurants serving delicious food and quality drinks. Staff take care of everything in a flash, speak excellent English and remember guests' names; one visitor suspected a quiet upgrade plus a souvenir scarf. Repeat French guests call it Siem Reap's best. The only miss noted: no toothbrush in the room.
