Shangri-La Nanshan, Shenzhen is a beyond-expectations near-perfect stay — a luxury relaxed hotel spread across floors sixty-six to seventy-eight with a breathtaking Shenzhen Bay panorama through floor-to-ceiling windows, lovely service where desk staff Vivian and Rita impressed, butler Nico who pre-called for preferences, upgraded to a high-floor bay view and answered instantly, a spacious lobby and cozy environment, a very good lounge and bar, a great gym and rarely-crowded pool with a comfy sauna, all-day executive-lounge grazing with surprisingly delicious little desserts, tasty free snacks, and a parting set of good conditioner samples. Caveats though: the coffee — at breakfast and in the lounge — is genuinely bad, and the minibar is chargeable.
