Shangri-La Far Eastern, Taipei is a good-value very clean stay — very good kind service guests would repeat, Taipei 101 views from the hotel including a five-a.m. sunrise and the night-time skyline, and a night market about ten minutes' walk away at a reasonable distance from the center. Caveats though: Taipei 101 is not truly walking distance, the building is old with insufficient lighting, bathroom amenities smelled musty, and one guest found newer hotels with breakfast included better value.
