Five minutes from the city terminal — walkable to train stations and Gamla Stan about a kilometre, coaches easy — Scandic No 53 is a lovely tiny good stay: a convenient spot for travellers, friendly happy-vibes staff who instantly offered a room change when a TV failed, a mismatched remote was the culprit, a nice fresh breakfast and a lovely cafe-dessert neighbour. Cautions: a paid early check-in, a few entry stairs to haul luggage up, an ordinary slightly-old room type and cleaning oversight.
