“Venice's ca formenta”
In a quiet part of Venice — restaurants and bars at the door, St Mark's ten to fifteen minutes — Hotel Ca' Formenta is a lovely wonderful stay: a small but adequate room, a lucky spacious cute upgrade for one, a truly delicious breakfast, easygoing staff who carried stored luggage to the room and bags at check-in and out despite no lift, and a clean-kept old building facing the lagoon. Dissents though: a tiny shower entrance and interior, and a severe empathy complaint, a non-refundable booking lost entirely when the guests could not travel, with no hold offered for a future trip.
