“Gothic Quarter gem, service shines”
Catalonia Magdalenes is a 2016 four-star in the heart of tourist Barcelona — early-cleaned comfortable rooms, a small stylish atrium, a cozy rooftop for sunset swims, and service called the best ever: concierge Simo once traced a guest's lost phone, and a wrong bed setup was swapped on a phone call. One stay soured badly, though: a windowless smoked-smelling ground-floor room and a porter who refused a change despite a smoke allergy, rectified only the next day — the impression never recovered.
