“Auckland's 540 motel”
Near the airport, 540 on Great South Motel earns clean tidy marks for some: a comfortable freshly-renovated-feeling room good for a night in transit. Dissents though carry severe weight: a towel-theft accusation with repeated post-checkout calls plus a never-greeting receptionist, a non-closing window with dead heating, dirty stained sofa-bed linen, a musty smell and a falling-apart basin drawer — the rate matching the service.
