Waldorf Astoria Beijing earns lavish praise — spacious bright rooms cleaned twice daily, welcome fruit and desserts, elegant decor, an excellent breakfast, a very good third-floor Cantonese restaurant, and personal-butler service from Willow and Claire that guests call meticulous and unforgettable. One experienced guest dissents hard: nobody guided them to check-in, the butler missed messages, an aging iPad took repeated presses, wear marks show, and — silk robes aside — it cannot compete at this rate outside Wangfujing.
