“Brindos Castle's split”
Brindos, Lac & Château - Relais & Châteaux is a dreamy superbe stay for many — a whole castle overlooking a photogenic lake, a relaxing pool and deck, a very beautiful comfortable carefully-decorated room, an included spa, a free shuttle to the Biarritz station and airport (one pair missed that memo), aligned-with-pedigree service, and top-level staff. Caveats though: a dissent says dinner did not live up to the menu or the rate, the superior room is enough on its own; a Russian guest found nothing stunning — a tiny spa whose three jacuzzis merely bubble, a suitcase-size sauna with no heat and very ordinary breakfasts; and the lake shows eutrophication up close while the spa water ran cool.
