Château du Sureau is a castle-like estate where guests are treated like royalty — gorgeous interiors thought through to the smallest detail, a koi pond, swings, bocce and a life-size chessboard on beautiful grounds, a complimentary breakfast cooked to taste by a personal chef, delicious dinners, round-the-clock lovely staff, and easy reach of Yosemite. One severe dissent though: a family dinner judged terrible value, with a risotto called disgusting and a cheese course dripping in fat — nothing like the chateau experience expected.
