Five minutes from the metro over a bridge in a quiet newer neighbourhood outside the centre, Van der Valk Hotel Amsterdam - Amstel is a beautiful place: spacious comfortable clean rooms with the best river views, nice staff and food, and an amazing experience for last-minute bookers landing late. Notes: the centre is a ride away, and the fittings are sized for two-metre frames — one guest jumped to reach the hanging rail and took the fixed shower head on the forehead.
