“Merchant's five-star polish”
The Merchant Hotel is an absolutely-fabulous stay for most — a true five-star Belfast classic where soup to nuts it ranked among the best stays guests have had: very attentive exemplary staff, a very clean well-cared-for luxurious room with frequent tidy-ups and turndown service, a brilliant breakfast, fantastic attention to detail, and definite plans to return. Caveats though: a returning guest noticed a difference — the rooms are getting a bit tired and one breakfast staffer was abrupt — not the same experience as before, unfortunately.
