Renovated near the Sofitel with a quite good location amid excellent restaurants, Emperador Hotel Buenos Aires is a lovely better-than-Marriott-for-some stay: friendly lovely staff, decent food, tidy clean rooms, quieter garden-facing views and an old-five-star renewed fit-out. Serious complaints though: rigid rules — no entry a minute before two, no breakfast room a minute before six — a near-two-hour desk ordeal over a debit-card deposit refusal for a non-credit-card guest and a confirmed airport transfer that simply never showed. High floors also report weak shower pressure.
