“The Beatrice's Providence find”
The Beatrice is a gorgeous unique downtown Providence find — a superb spot five minutes from the Amtrak station and walkable to Brown and RISD, big fantastic rooms with bathrooms exceeding expectations, a very comfortable bed, a nice morning lobby spread of pastries, fruit and coffee, smooth unrequested early check-in, and helpful friendly staff. Two real dissents though: limited room dining and a restaurant that closes early without breakfast; and one severe review reporting a sloped terrible bed, puffy pillows, an all-or-nothing AC, a filthy stained rug and only-partial cleanliness — the worst sleep of a long trip; another cited dusty furniture, poor soundproofing and a noisy thermostat.
