“San Francisco's monument”
San Francisco Hotel Monumento is a blown-away wonderful stay — a perfect excellent location beside the cathedral behind the Hostal de los Reyes Católicos in Santiago's old town, a monastery conversion full of history where one guest felt like a nun for a night, clean rooms blending the old building with a new-condition feel, a big garden, a very nice indoor pool, an excellent breakfast, and attentive helpful staff — the restaurant made a real effort for a daughter's birthday and Fran and Juan were lovely. Caveats though: a dissent found the restaurant service the biggest disappointment of the stay.
