“Wharf's riu plaza”
In the heart of Fisherman's Wharf — Pier 39 and the cable-car start minutes away — Riu Plaza Fisherman's Wharf is a large well-placed stay: very spacious clean rooms with coffee machine and iron, comfy mattresses and pillows, a ground-floor terrace room useful for drying, warming outdoor coal heaters, a superb front desk, a very safe-feeling area and a super rich cheerful breakfast. Cautions: heavy breakfast queues from seven, a dated weak-flow shower and dear hotel parking, neighbouring rental-car lots are the thrifty workaround.
