“Hotel Madera's Dupont Circle boutique”
Hotel Madera is a nice Dupont Circle boutique hotel — a convenient walk to great restaurants and ten minutes to the metro, central to the monuments and White House, modern clean comfortable big rooms, a yummy continental breakfast, free filtered water and ice, and fantastic helpful staff; several loved it. The complaints: a mosquito invasion — a fly and three mosquitoes killed on arrival, more bites while waiting for valet, not recommended; a tiny easy-to-miss facade with no lobby beyond a small desk; a pathetic sink flow (the shower pressure was fine); one of the toiletries — shampoo or body wash — stung both guests' eyes — lemon peel suspected; and hotel fees excluded from the booking surface as extra checkout charges.
