The St. Regis San Francisco is an excellent very good stay — a clean tidy comfortable hotel in a great location with everywhere easy to reach, friendly staff, a nice bar, a delicious breakfast, a much-liked free valet parking perk, a pretty purple-accented upgraded room, tasty cake and a daily lobby food credit for one guest, plus artsy shopping beside. Caveats though: rooms run compact, and the valet is dear when not comped.
