The Grand Hotel Birmingham is a first-rate grande-dame — immaculate very spacious rooms with gorgeous Penhaligon's-stocked bathrooms and really comfortable beds, grand wedding venues, an excellent many-choice breakfast, Nespresso machines, a nice Church Street area, and amazing attentive nothing-too-much staff; one family wedding ran perfectly from booking to bar. Caveats though: one business guest found the city itself difficult.
