Cinnamon Red Colombo is a clean mid-range high-rise in a strategic spot — spacious rooms with comfy beds and fresh covers, friendly helpful staff, a good gym, an accommodating early check-in, and a restaurant with a decent Sri Lankan and Continental range. One level-22 stay reported a wet mouldy smell at the lift, a skipped welcome drink, near-nonexistent shower pressure, a too-cold pool, and worst of all a smoke detector that flashes like an aircraft strobe every six seconds — bright through closed eyelids. Carpets also needed vacuuming.
