“Des Lux's fun Des Moines stay”
Des Lux Hotel is a unique, beautiful downtown Des Moines boutique — extremely comfortable fun-decorated rooms with effective blackout curtains, a wonderful morning breakfast with plenty of dining room, an excellent bar (closed for one guest), a well-decorated comfortable lobby, art and architecture worth a walk around, and amazing welcoming staff who slipped an anniversary guest a steakhouse gift card. The notes: traffic ran a bit louder than expected, rooms proved noisy for one, soap residue on a shower floor caused a near-slip, and the toilet paper drew a gripe.
