The Old No. 77 Hotel & Chandlery is a pleasantly-surprising New Orleans hotel — very cool vibes, clean comfortable rooms, an excellent attached restaurant, cafe and gallery, a beautiful location walking distance to the convention center and Bourbon Street, and wonderful front-desk staff who handled last-minute needs. The complaints: terribly rude service — a clerk reportedly screamed about keeping the whole deposit over a brief loading-park stop; thin walls let upstairs noise wreck sleep; many rooms are windowless leaving no sense of time; and another guest found staff unhelpful and unfriendly.
