“Hôtel Gustave's cozy Paris stay, deposit row”
Hôtel Gustave is a very clean, cozy Paris hotel in a strategic spot — near the Eiffel Tower with several metro stops close, tidy rooms with lovely soap, unlimited coffee-capsule refills, and a comfortable bed. One severe complaint: one-star service — a 1am arrival with only Apple Pay faced a fifty-euro physical-card deposit demand or a passport hold; the guest's English-poor clerk offered no alternative, and they borrowed money overnight to redeem their passport, calling it shameful. Management replies note the deposit is a standard pre-authorization; noise nuisances and housekeeping misses were also flagged in a separate review.
