“Sorrento grande dame with private beach”
Grand Hotel Royal is a spotless, classy Sorrento classic with stunning Bay of Naples and Vesuvius views — gorgeous fragrant gardens full of seats, an elevator down the cliff to a private beach and tanning docks, a lovely dining room and veranda bar, a rich breakfast, and silent rooms (one had only a small awkward pool view). Staff are incredibly kind and attentive. The dated touches: few English TV channels and no internet TV, and a thermostat that kept reverting to default.
