Renaissance Koh Samui Resort & Spa is a quiet, pleasant beachfront resort near Lamai — cozy rooms with comfortable beds, a nice breakfast (the French toast is loved), a great pool and beach area, complimentary activities, tended grounds and a nice spa; honeymooners delighted in a villa upgrade with private pool, sea view and bed decorations. Notes: it is remote — taxis needed for dining and shopping — the standard building rooms underwhelmed versus the villas, the resort feels old for its rate, and one stay found the beach waterless in late June.
