“HGI Del Mar's tidy retro stay”
Hilton Garden Inn San Diego Del Mar is a clean, tidy retro San Diego hotel — a nice lobby and great cafe next door, an in-room kettle and microwave plus lobby hot water, a plus laundry room, a shared breakfast hall with the neighboring Hilton offering a decent selection, and a good location near UC and Sorrento Valley. The complaints: housekeeping never came across four nights despite stated alternate-day service; one severe note says not clean and smells terrible; it's old and noisy with indifferent service per one; and fair value only — not a four-star experience.
