“Rail-side Nice base, one displacement”
Doubletree by Hilton Nice Centre Iconic is a 2024 hotel whose location is the headline: beside the train station and tram, with a mall, supermarket and restaurants at the door and the center a short walk — several rail travelers call it an ideal base for exploring the south of France. Rooms are called large by French standards, clean and designed, with a rich breakfast and a warm front desk that has upgraded rooms and minded parcels. Criticism exists: one guest reported a pungent renovation smell in the corridor, occasional weekend street noise, and — most seriously — one arrival was displaced to a worse alternative hotel after a facility problem, with handling they found disrespectful.
