Gran Hotel Miramar GL is a century-old seaside landmark in Malaga — just metres from the beach, a private beach area, a beautiful lobby, spotless housekeeping, a courtyard of palms and tropical plants, a seventh-floor rooftop bar and restaurant whose open terrace overlooks the whole coastline (the dinner is great), a good breakfast, and a seaside promenade lined with small restaurants. It suits winter escapes — Malaga is warmer than Madrid. Two critics: one calls the quality low for the rate with a harsh uncomfortable bed, and another calls the room design bad with a tiny toilet and shower.
