Hotel Villa e Palazzo Aminta is an absolutely beautiful Lake Maggiore stay — magnificent rooms, fabulous breakfast, wonderfully-kept landscaping, a very good town shuttle, a good dining experience, and excellent extremely helpful staff. Several niggles though: no bedroom mirror or heating (a chilly room), a too-small safe, lukewarm water, one suite bathroom below standard, a poor initial room later fixed, eccentric restaurant service, and a platform-versus-hotel mismatch that produced a surprise extra-guest charge — disappointing for the rate to some.
