“Historic Naples grande, works outside”
Grand Hotel Vesuvio is an 1882 Naples landmark facing Castel dell'Ovo — excellent seaside location with balcony sea-and-castle views, small but well-equipped quality rooms, a rich breakfast, a top-floor bar overlooking the harbour, thoughtful service and good value; old-money fans won't be disappointed. Caveats: roadworks out front and the castle's own renovation obscure views, showers run small, and one guest found the fridge, AC and bathroom fittings below expectations.
