“Sant'Angelo's cave rooms”
Sant'Angelo Matera is a beautiful cave-monastery conversion opposite Madonna de Idris — spacious modern-decorated cave rooms preserving raw rock, an excellent breakfast, an amazing-view must-do Regina Corte restaurant (excellent dinners, pizza also liked), parking and self-drive shuttles, a quiet courtyard and old church, and extremely helpful staff (Martina praised). Caveats: scattered rooms vary widely in type, and one guest's assigned room was downgraded from the booking with no remedy since the hotel was full.
