Canaves Oia Suites is a meticulously-designed caldera-facing stay at Oia's car-accessible entrance — fabulous spacious suites, walk-in proximity to the blue domes and sunset spots before crowds, a beautiful pool and breakfast area, thoughtful birthday cakes and balloons, provided juice and wine, and friendly staff who book boat trips and arrange airport drop-offs. Significant dissents though: one guest paid for an upgrade that looked identical and felt cheated; another called the spa therapists weak, the spa booking impossible, and the breakfast pitifully sparse — and room plunge pools are too short to swim.
