Staylist AI overview · based on 8 public guest reviews
“Kyoto's most polished ryokan hideaway”
Sowaka is a small SLH luxury ryokan that guests call their most satisfying stay: an authentic wooden house full of heritage and character yet modern inside, with a wonderful main garden, rooms each styled differently — sunrise light in room 108 is worth waking for — delicious food and extremely friendly staff who exemplify Japanese hospitality. A daily happy hour pours free sake and soft drinks, welcome gifts await each room, and photographers may shoot by arrangement. The only caveat: entry-level new-wing rooms are modest in size and view.
