In the CBD — Queen Street, the wharf and a 24-hour supermarket all walkable — JW Marriott Auckland is a very nice top-service stay: a clean tidy big room, great friendly chatty staff, an efficient front desk that introduced facilities unprompted and recommended sights per itinerary, even flagging the day-night temperature gap, great food and drinks for a birthday celebration and strong family suitability. One dissent though: seriously hard-to-control shower hot water.
