“North beach's washington square”
Right in the middle of North Beach, Washington Square Inn splits guests sharply: many find a cute very clean nice-size room with never-empty lobby coffee tea and water and attentive staff. Dissents though carry severe weight: an avoid-verdict — no staff or security on site, unanswered phones, an old musty mothball smell and visible mould on walls and shower — plus a solo woman given a first-floor room without a deadbolt, a heat-only fireplace, a mouldy non-working shower with rusted screws, a too-dark dated room and an ill-fitting mattress.
