“Concordia's steps-from-San-Marco stay”
Hotel Concordia is a historic Venice hotel directly by St Mark's — an unbeatable spot (though the alley entrance is hard to find), luxurious interiors, charming clean rooms, careful attentive staff who carried luggage and fixed a mosquito problem quickly, a good breakfast, and terrace suites with amazing Basilica views. The complaints: noise until 2am — request a room away from the bar; heating controlled only through reception; steps and luggage make arrival tough for some; and one Russian review reported no water, noise and an unfriendly desk — 'won't return.'
