“Palazzo Stern's canal gem”
Hotel Palazzo Stern is a beautiful historic-detailed Dorsoduro gem — comfortable clean welcoming rooms with stocked fridges, a gorgeous Grand Canal terrace serving great food, a ferry stop next door and restaurants minutes away, excellent friendly staff who arranged airport transfers, train-terminal transport, and a last-minute glass-factory tour, plus well-made cocktails. Caveats though: a two-storey loft room hid an undisclosed downstairs bathroom (midnight climbs), air conditioning was off-season off (open windows invited mosquitoes), and one guest wished they had booked longer.
