Corso 281 Luxury Suites is a very new Rome boutique beside Piazza Venezia — a golden-mile spot with the Colosseum, Pantheon and Trevi about ten minutes' walk and the Spanish Steps fifteen, lively Corso dining including Chinese and Japanese, strong AC, Bvlgari toiletries, luggage pre-delivered to rooms, a good room-delivered breakfast, parking with a temporary ZTL pass, and very good service. Notes: a balcony faced a light well with water-heater fumes and trash bins; a smelly bathroom and thin bread-and-drink in-room breakfast disappointed one guest; small rooms barely fit open luggage; and an undeclared child added a hefty surcharge.
