“Gaslamp convention base, cold shower”
Hard Rock Hotel San Diego sits perfectly in the Gaslamp Quarter beside Petco Park — minutes' walk to the convention centre, surrounded by bars and restaurants, with spacious rooms (one hosted meetings via a handy divider), good in-house bars and dining, a gym, outdoor pool and jacuzzi, and nice helpful staff. Complaints: cold water that staff didn't fix despite reports, a stray garment left in one room, the spa and steam room are gone, and the restaurant is a bit expensive though tasty.
