Linked to the China World mall facing the CCTV tower, Jen Beijing by Shangri-La is a great newly-renovated first-choice stay: a clean tidy comfortable not-big room — pick a twin for the window-side sofa and better third-ring views — great service from a desk that honoured a midnight room-type request, fast late-night room dining, a best-rated gym, an excellent location, a good view and a standout breakfast that weaves in Beijing character with landmark-view seats. Notes: housekeeping slipped versus a prior stay, and dinner ingredients felt less fresh.
