The Silk Lakehouse, Shangri-La Hangzhou is a quiet, elegant design hotel on the hillside above West Lake — stylish fresh decor, superb lake-view rooms with smart bedside controls, a made-to-order semi-buffet breakfast from skilled chefs, an authentic Shang Palace, a rooftop garden overlooking the city, nightly sweet-soup turndowns, a lakeside shuttle, and fun heritage, photography and tea experiences. Butler service answers every request and Xiao Gao and Xiao Jia were thanked. Two nits: pool-staff attentiveness could improve, and the shower thermostat locked at a lukewarm forty degrees for one guest.
