“Waterfront's mixed stay”
At the heart of the V&A Waterfront — harbour views, food and malls close, all sights easy — Victoria & Alfred Hotel by Newmark is a beyond-expectations beautiful stay: a surprise suite upgrade, impeccable high-end service, the best beds and a wonderful breakfast spread. Serious complaints though: loft rooms get loud wind noise, a toilet seat was broken, nothing in the minibar is free, lint residue and disinfectant-smelling dark towels, an aged showerhead scattering water, no proactive porter or doorman, a tip-taken-then-left luggage moment and an inflexible paid late checkout capped at three , plus dated rooms, no bathroom AC and missing sockets.
