Marunouchi Hotel is an excellent beyond-expectations stay — beside Tokyo Station with a dedicated hotel lift reached underground from the Otemachi exit so arrivals need never surface, excellent room quality in a small-but-complete smartly-laid-out renovated space with a surprisingly-large bathroom and a separate shower beside the tub, great food service, child-friendliness, a rail-view room that stays quiet after trains stop around midnight, and station dining and shopping that make skipping the hotel breakfast easy. Caveats though: most subway lines are about eight minutes away, the desk sits on the seventh floor, and one pillow was too soft for neck support.
