Vignette Collection Casa Da Companhia is a lovely Porto old-town hotel — a sixteenth-century building pairing historic bones with modern minimalist rooms, large clean comfortable thoughtfully-designed quarters, an unforgettable pool facing Porto Cathedral, a decent breakfast, a convenient central walkable location, and extremely helpful professional staff — the best of one guest's five Iberian stays. One severe dissent though: taxis can't stop at the door, a street-facing ground-floor room offered no privacy, and worst of all a friend woke with an itchy red rash covering both arms after night one — the hotel refused any remedy, leaving deep disappointment.
